French Foreign Minister, Jean-Yves Le Drian, said that the military victory in Libya will not restore calm in the country, and that only the political process will guarantee this.
The French call comes after the ceasefire initiative in Libya announced by Turkish President Rejep Tayyip Erdogan and his Russian counterpart, “Vladimir Putin” starting from January 12.
France signed the joint European statement issued Wednesday calling for the halt of the war in Tripoli and other cities, in preparation for launching a comprehensive political dialogue.
