Erdogan: We will meet the GNA’s request to send troops as soon as the parliament approves that on January 8.

Turkish President Rejep Tayyip Erdogan said on Thursday that the military cooperation memorandum signed with Libya has come into force, and we will respond to the legitimate GNA’s call after the authorization memorandum is passed from the parliament immediately after resuming its sessions on January 8.

Erdogan added, in a speech during a meeting of the Justice and Development Party in the Turkish capital, Ankara, that those who support coup leader Hifter with equipment and planes and mercenaries object to our support for the legitimate GNA, noting that they agreed with Tunisia to provide political support to the GNA.

It is worth noting that Turkish President Rejep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed, in a statement on Wednesday, the presence of 5 thousand mercenaries from Sudan and unofficial Russian forces fighting in the ranks of Hifter militants in their aggression against Tripoli since the 4th of last April.
