Italian Foreign Minister Luigi de Mayo on Tuesday renewed his country’s support for the GNA, stressing that there would be no military solution to the crisis in Libya.
In his meeting with President of the GNA Fayez ASarraj in Tripoli, de Mayo stressed that his country supports the efforts of the UN envoy to return to the political track, expressing his hope that the Berlin conference to be held will achieve consensus among all countries interested in Libyan affairs, according to the media office of the President of the GNA.
In a related context, Al-Sarraj stressed the necessity of inviting all countries concerned with Libyan affairs without any exclusion at the Berlin conference, noting that the positions of the reconciliation government and its handling of the situation locally and internationally are taken within the framework of national constants, foremost among which is the unity of Libyan soil and the reinforcement of national sovereignty.
