The commander of the sea front in Borqan Ak-Qdab operation, Colonel Reda Issa, said on Wednesday, that a patrol has seized an Italian fishing vessel 47 miles northeast of Misurata.
The ship, which was named “Tramontana”, was fishing in libyan waters under the sovereignty of the Libyan state, he added. The vessel, carrying seven sailors, was carrying Italian and Tonsian nationality.
Essa confirmed their reservation on the ship until legal action was taken. He pointed out that this is the fourth ship they have seized since they were assigned to this position, adding that since April 22 they have carried out 128 patrols and reconnaissance operations, in addition to saving 2,200 illegal immigrants.
It is noteworthy that the Chief of Staff of the Naval Forces issued, on 22 April, a decision to assign a Coast Guard force to secure the sea line from Sirte to Ras Jedir to cut off sea supplies from the militias of Haftar.
