On the occasion of the 67th anniversary of independence, the Ministry of the Interior called upon the Al-Wefaq Libyan Government to achieve genuine national reconciliation, to give priority to dialogue and to renounce the use weapon power.
In a statement, the ministry extended its congratulations to all Libyans by the anniversary of independence, stressing the necessity of cohesion among the people of one homeland to establish security and safety and establishing bases throughout the country.
December 24 of each year is the anniversary of the independence of the country declared by King Idris, may he rest in peace, from the city of Benghazi in 1951.
