The HOR Accuses Salama of Distorting the Legislature

40 members of the House of Representatives (HOR), on Monday, accused the UN envoy to Libya Ghassan Salama of distorting the legislative authority and the precise legitimacy of the people during his last briefing to the UN Security Council.

In a statement published on the official website of the Council, the HOR denounced Salama’s statement before the Security Council and expressed their surprise at the lack of commitment of integrity in accordance with the principles and charters of the United Nations General Assembly and its bias towards one party, according to the statement.

The deputies demanded the Presidency of the Parliament to include the item to discuss the abuse of the Council of safety on the agenda of the next session.

The head of the United Nations Mission of Support in Libya, said in his briefing to the Security Council on the eighth of November this year, that the HOR did not shoulder his responsibility well, and the postponement of meetings is intended only to waste time.
