The head of the Presidential Council (PC), Faiz Al-Sarraj held a meeting with the chief of the General Staff, General Abdul Rahman Al-Tawil in Tripoli to follow up on the military and security situation in the suburbs of Tripoli.
Al-Sarraj was briefed on the arrangements made to provide the needs of military units to ensure the safety and protection of citizens, in addition to coordination mechanisms between regions and military and security units, according to PC media office.
Al-Sarraj also met with Defense Minister, Oheda Najem discussing the ministry’s plan to protect citizens and secure vital institutions in the country.
The areas south of Tripoli is witnessing armed clashes since last Monday, killing and wounding dozens of civilians.
