HOR member says accepting or rejecting the constitution in the hands of Libyans

House of Representatives (HOR) member, Abu Bakr Saeed said on Saturday, Libyans have the right to reject the draft constitution or accept it through a referendum without the oversight of any party.

Saeed said on his official page, the constitution is the outcome of the work of a body elected by the public, voted and approved by more than two thirds of its members.

In a related context, Saeed criticized the timing of the invitation of some of the HOR members to a seminar dialogue in the Netherlands, which is in conflict with the timing of voting on the referendum law, tomorrow.

The House’s member stressed that the decision is in the hands of the invited members, as officials they have the right to postpone the visit in case it contradicts with the implementation of any constitutional entitlement, Saeed said.

The Presidency of the House of Representatives called last Tuesday, members to attend the next Monday and Tuesday’s session to vote on the draft referendum law.
