The Zuwara Security Directorate denied the drowning of a boat carrying illegal immigrants, including Libyans, off the coast of Zuwara.
The Directorate said on its official website on Friday, that the news is not true, adding that its mission is to reduce the phenomenon of illegal migration.
The Directorate confirmed that it would publish the correct details of any incident within the limits of its mandated tasks, calling on the media to investigate before publishing any news.
On Friday, news outlets reported that a Libyan family drowned after trying to migrate to Europe.
