Russian sailors detained in Libya face new hearing

Russia Russian sailors detained in Libya will go to trial on Tuesday, according to Russia Today TV.

A Russian diplomatic source told the Russian TV channel, the Russian government is seeking the release of the sailors, noting to the first talks held in October 2016 between the head of the Presidential Council (PC), FaIz Al-Sarraj and the head of the Russian contact group, Lev Dengov, which resulted in the release of 10 Russian sailors.

The Libyan prosecution has filed a case against the captain of the oil tanker “Timitron”, detained since July 2016 on fuel smuggling charge, and his top aide.
