The Government of National Accord (GNA) Finance ministry denounced the armed attacks on the oil crescent area, describing them as “terrorist.”
The ministry said in a statement on Sunday, the head of the National Oil Corporation (NOC) said the losses caused by the attack, estimated at $ 880 million a month, required the perpetrators of this crime to be punished in order to preserve the wealth of Libyans and their sole source of income.
The Ministry pointed out in its statement that the high rates of production achieved by the oil sector was accompanied by an improvement in world prices.
The oil crescent region has seen since Wednesday, armed clashes between the Haftar Forces and Al-Jidran Forces.
