Haley: The list of sanctions on smugglers in Libya is only the first batch

The United States representative to the United Nations, Nikki Healy said sanctions imposed by the Security Council on six individuals for their involvement in trafficking and smuggling of migrants in Libya were based on US participation with the Government of National Accord (GNA).

In a statement posted by the US Embassy in Libya on Friday, Haley said the GNA had agreed to crack down on illegal trafficking and trafficking.

The names are the first batch of individuals listed by the Libya sanctions committee since 2011, and are the result of close cooperation between the United States, the Netherlands, France, the United Kingdom and Germany.

On Thursday, the Security Council’s sanctions committee imposed sanctions on Musab Abu Qren, Mohamed Kashlaf, Abdulrahman Milad, Al-Fitouri Abdul Razak, Ahmed Al-Dabashi and Ermias Jermay for involvement in the smuggling of migrants from Libya to Europe.
