The Sirte Municipal Council spokesperson, Mohamed Al-Amil said on Thursday the water began to return to the city after the opening of the main valve of the Industrial River system in Ajdabiya.
Al-Amil explained in a statement to ArraedLG, the water was cut off from more than 20 cities after a citizen from Harawa town sabotaged the pipes of the system.
He did this to install an illegal link, which damaged the system completely, said Al-Amil, adding that the municipal council cooperated with the relative parties on the pipe’s repair.
The water that was cut off from the city on May 5, arrived after the maintenance of the damaged pipeline to the reservoir of Harawa on Wednesday evening.
