The head of the monitoring and response department of the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC), Ramadan Osman warned on Monday of the risk of hepatitis A spreading among school students, confirming several cases have been reported.
Osman told ArraedLG, the main reason for the spread of the disease is “the lack of water and soap in the toilets,” noting that the symptoms are vomiting and diarrhea.
The director of monitoring in the Ministry of Education said, school health offices need to organize field trips to educational institutions and stress on the presence of water, indicating that the vaccine for this virus is not available in the country.
The Monitoring Department of the NCDC monitored many cases among children, 17 cases in the Brak Al-Shati and 16 in Bani Walid.
