Italian authorities announced on Tuesday the rescue of 132 illegal immigrants, who departed from Libya.
Authorities said in a statement to the Italian news agency Aki, the migrants arrived at the port of Pozzallo in Italy after they were rescued off the coast of Libya.
Italian police arrested a young man of Sierra Leonean nationality on charges of smuggling the boat off the Libyan coast, the agency said.
Last March, a Cypriot merchant ship rescued 72 migrants aboard two boats in international waters off the coast of Libya.
