High Council of State member says Salame’s briefing “biased”

The , Mansour Al-Hasadi expressed his confusion on Thursday, regarding UN special envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salame ignorance of the “inhuman” blockade imposed on the city of Derna, in his briefing before the Security Council.

In a statement to ArraedLG, Al-Hasadi called Salame’s briefing to the Security Council biased, asserting that the siege on Derna is against international law.

The High Council of State member added that the humanitarian situation in Derna is dangerous, pointing out that the city is deprived of access to necessary humanitarian needs and people are prohibited from moving normally outside it.

Al-Hasadi said the city’s residents are unlawfully arrested, either on the basis of identity or politics.
The UN special envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salame, briefed the Security Council on Wednesday, on the political, economic and security situation in Libya.
