The Presidential Council (PC) of the Government of National Accord (GNA) said it stands at equal distance from all parties in the south, calling for an immediate cease-fire.
In a statement, the Council called on the parties to the conflict in the south to return to the path of dialogue and understanding.
The statement announced the formation of a committee from the PC, the House of Representatives (HOR) and the High Council of State; to work to achieve calm and restore stability in the south.
The Presidential Council renewed its concern for the security and stability of the south and fighting groups outside the country, expressing regret for the developments in the city of Sabha, according to the statement.
Sabha witnessed in the past days armed clashes that left dead and wounded, including children and civilians, and a wave of displacement outside the city.
