Al-Warfali released after protests in Benghazi

On Thursday, the military police of the Haftar forces released the commanding officer of the Special Forces wanted by the International Criminal Court (ICC), Mahmoud Al-Warfali.

The official of the media Office of the Special Forces, Riyad Al-Shuhebi, told Russian news agency Sputnik, the military police department of the forces of Haftar in Al-Marj released Al-Warfali after what he described as “the completion of investigations with him.”

On Wednesday, supporters of Al-Warfali burned tires and blocked roads in the city of Benghazi in protest against his decision to surrender after the ICC demanded his arrest for war crimes.
