The Libyan national football team lost the third-place play-off match at the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN), at Stade de Marrakech, in front of the Sudanese national team on penalties after the end of the game with a positive draw with a goal for each side.
Walaaddin Moussa opened the score for Sudan in the eighth minute, while Libya’s Salim Abelou equalized in the 84th minute. The two teams then went on to penalty shootouts that Sudan won 4-2.
Sudan won the bronze medal, while the Libyan team finished fourth.
