Libya and Niger agree to open air pathway

The foreign minister of the Government of National Accord (GNA), Mohamed Al-Sayala, agreed on Tuesday with his Nigerien counterpart, Ibrahim Yacoubou, to implement a proposal to open an air pathway between Tripoli and Niamey.

The agreement tool place during a meeting on the sidelines of the 30th African Union (AU) summit held in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa.

Al-Sayala stressed the need to control the border between Libya and Niger to limit the smuggling goods and people across the border between the two countries, according to the foreign affairs ministry media office.
