The National Oil Corporation (NOC) has announced the delivery of solar power systems to a number of hospitals in Zintan and Rujban.
The NOC said on its official website on Tuesday, that these systems will be installed in the Trauma Hospital, Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital and the General Hospital in Zintan, in addition to the Rujban General Hospital. The project is sponsored by the NOC’s sustainable development program, financed by Spanish Repsol consortium and implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Libya.
The NOC said that the systems were connected with the operation and treatment rooms to provide a stable and permanent source of electricity, and meet some of the lighting needs within those hospitals.
Last week, the Upari General Hospital witnessed the installation of two solar systems, one in the operating room and intensive care, and the other in the dialysis department of the hospital.
