UNICEF: humanitarian assistance provided  to nearly 9,000 illegal migrants in Sabratha

UNICEF has announced the establishment of 30 toilets with separate units for women and men, in cooperation with the Libyan Association for National Reconciliation and Charity, for 8,500 illegal immigrants living temporarily in the Wadi Sabratha area.

According to the official website  on Friday, the maintenance included three existing toilets and sewerage system, adding that it installed 20 water tanks, and organized a campaign of cleanliness and sterilization within the region, referring to the funding of the European Union and the Ministry of Economy and Development of the German government for this assistance.

In September, the Libyan coast guard rescued some 1,047 illegal immigrants north of the Wadi al-Wadi area in Sabratha.
