President of the Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sarraj said that the Libyans will not accept the return of a military dictatorship again.
In a press statement on Saturday Al-Sarraj said that the military leadership must be subordinate to the political leadership, explaining that the military leadership’s arrogance on political decisions will lead the country to the model of a military dictatorship.
Al-Sarraj pointed out that the Presidential Council believes that no military figure on the Libyan scene will be excluded, stressing his work on building a civil state in which the peaceful transfer of power will be conducted in accordance with the democratic standards defined by the world.
The UN Security Council confirmed on Thursday, in a statement that the implementation of the political agreement is the basis for resolving the political crisis and ending the transitional phase.
