Supporters of Khalifa Hafter sabotaged and removed polling station boards

A group of protesters loyal to the commander of Operation Dignity, Khalifa Haftar, have raided and removed polling station boards from schools in the city of Benghazi.

The protesters released a videotape demanding that the leader of the Operation Dignity be chosen as the ruling authority in Libya, refusing to hold any elections in Benghazi.

The head of the Electoral Commission Imad Al-Sayeh commented on the incident stating that they “were surprised” by the vandalism and that they will be communicating with the security authorities in the city. He added that the Commission has installed the numbering plates in Benghazi using official licenses and procedures after having received the approval of the responsible authorities in the city. As such, the vandalism that occurred is contrary to the law.
