House of Representatives: We will have to take action if the Supreme Council of the State continues to “reject” Ghassan Salame’s Initiative

The House of Representatives said that it would not accept the continuation of the current situation within Libya and would they would have to take action if the Supreme Council of the State refuses to take the initiative of the UN envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salame. The house of representatives  asked Ghassan Salame to clarify his position in regards to the Supreme Council of the State’s position on the initiative and to clarify what steps would be taken if the current situation continued as it is.

Last month the House of Representatives unanimously accepted the proposal submitted by UN envoy Ghassan Salame, on the amendment of the articles of the executive power of the political agreement. On the other hand, the Supreme Council of the State has reservations in regards to Salame’s initiative, pointing out that it lacks the principle of participation provided for in the political agreement.
