Cases of measles documented in Qatrun

The Department of Monitoring and Response department of the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed on Sunday news regarding measles cases documented in Qatrun area in the south of Libya.

In a statement on its official page, the Center called on monitoring supervisors in the southern regions to address school principals, local media officials, mosque preachers and health care managers to raise people’s awareness of the disease and to follow the proper procedures when it is spotted.

The center called for the isolation of any student showing a rash and high fever, and to be suspended temporarily from the stuschooldy, urging citizens to take vitamin A.

The Center reported that it would launch an urgent vaccination campaign in Qatrun area.
