“During the relentless clashes of today, we have lost two fighters and 29 others were injured as we advanced on the last three pockets of the terrorists,” reported the Libyan army Tuesday morning before the liberation.

According to Mohammed Al-ghasri, a spokesman for Al-Bunyan Al-Marsoos, 30 ISIS fighters surrendered while they continued to clear buildings clearing the Jiza neighbourhood of any remaining ISIS fighters

“Three ISIS militants blew themselves up before we had reached them, but they caused only material damage,” said Al-Ghasri.

When questioned regarding the preemptive declaration of victory, Al-Ghasri commented that the mission and purpose of Al-Bunyan Al-Marsoos is military and combat. “However declaring the liberation is the job of the political authority in Libya after they reach out to us for details,” he added.
