A source from the office of Media and Relations at Sabratha’s Security Directorate has confirmed that 12 people were killed at the hands of an armed group connected to ISIS after it raided the Security Directorate building last night.
Sabratha’s Municipal Council declared three days of mourning for the victims of the attack, calling on the city’s residents to be careful and stay away from suspicious areas and clashes.
The Council declared a state of emergency and the formation of a unified operations room to eliminate ISIS. The joint effort will include participating fighters from Zawiya, Surman, and other neighboring areas in coordination with the Western Military Zone and army officers from Sabratha.
